I would avoid Axminster clamps.
Better of paying more and get a decent brand which last.
You will only end up having to buy another set so costing you more any way.
Have you had problems with the before?
I'll buy festool or bessy clamps next time then though I was saving a few quid.
Yes I did have.
I have owned my festool and bessy clamps for years and still have them now.
Yet the pair of axministers are in a skip! The lifespan of one was less than a year the other soon followed with the same problem.
They must use an inferior/softer metal. The ratchet wears away so the clamps don't hold and just spring open when you least expect it very annoying. They get worse and worse untill just a slight knock or vibration they pop open. I sneezed once and one just pop open [tongue]
So although a saved money at the time in the long run its cost me more.
Based on my 1pair of festool ones I have had for 10years I would have had to buy the Axminster ones 10 times by now or more . The festool ones are still working perfectly fine so it could be another 10years.
So in the long run going for a decent brand you could be saving thousands of pounds.
Saying all this maybe they have improved them I don't know but what I do know is my pair didn't last and I didn't abuse them they actually had less abuse than the clamps I already owned and had been used less in the time frame they failed.
All I wanted was just another pair of clamps and axmisnters looked identical for less money. I am just so glad I bought a pair! I would have been so angry had I bought 10 pairs or more.
