CT26 stored in bench

I am working on my version of the Paulk workbench.  I want to put the CT26 (don't have it yet) in some of that space under the torsion box.  I would like to move the CT26 around the garage as needed but I want it to live in the workbench and be useable
there.  Is there any clearance issues or anything that requires this unit to be out with free space all around it, during use ?

Hi,

      Make sure there is plenty of space around the air vents and room for air circulation. Maybe add a small fan to push air through the enclosure. I had a Mini under a bench with "cabinet sides" on both sides of the vac. About 2" of space between vent and cabinet. It over heated on a run time of about 20 min. Not sure what the air temp was. Vac came back to life after a while.

Thanks for the information.  Need to get it in my hands first, I guess, before seeing how much room it will need.

The Festool CT (except -SYS) vacuums differ from many other brands (and the usual household stuff) in that the air they use to cool the motor isn't pulled in through the hose. From this stems the need to give them a ventilated room to breath, at least in case you plan to (partially) block the intake.

Very good to know.  Don't mind giving up some side to side space, just hoping not to give up much height as the 21.25" height is already is cutting it close.

I hope it works, because I just finished doing that to mine! It's an older CT-22. I built a shelf for it under an assembly table. The sides are close, but the front and back are wide open. I love having it up off the ground where it's easier to plug the tools in and connect the hose.

The CT22 also has an exhaust port. If you use that, there will be a lot less heat around it.
