Cutting Splinterguard for the first time?

I retract everything I said about the kerf. It's 2.2 vs. 2.5.

I have to pay more attention to what I'm writing, and thinking...

The aluminum blade is going to cut wider. The Panther blade is even wider, 2.6.

I'll fix the above remarks so as not to confuse anyone with my incorrect reply.

Here's a heads-up - in the UK (and presumably the rest of Europe) Festool has re-engineered all the TS55 blades, so they all now have exactly the same kerf.

I think they're all 2.2mm now, although I'm not 100% sure, it may be 2.5mm. Whichever it is doesn't really matter, it's the fact that they're all the same.

I'm guessing that you'll get them over there once the old stocks run out.

If memory serves, this was an issue that was raised on FOG a long time ago, so maybe it's down to us complaining. But then again, maybe not....

Justin, yes you are right in your assumptions

By the way I read that the blade which has reference '439686 ' from Festool was given by Festool for cutting not only Aluminium but also plastic (hard) and to provide fine cuts for wood.

The best is probably to try and see.
