Cyclone connection

I have a CT 17 E which I want to connect to a dust commander cyclone, the the cyclone connections are 55mm OD and 49mm ID.
I have 2 questions.
1. Would it be more efficient if I connected the extractor with 63mm flexi hose,
2. If I use the 27mm hose which came with the extractor, does anyone know if I can purchase an adaptor to fit the cyclone?

Thanks

I don't really know but I know that less resistance results in more airflow.  But shop vacs are affected less than DCs.  My only other comment is I often use PVC reshaped with a heat gun for connectors when a commercial offering is not readily available.

Festool's Hose Sleeve might fit directly. If it is a little loose, you might try cutting it in half (essentially making two usable fittings) and see if the coupling's inner, slightly narrower dimension fits. I connected my cyclone by cutting this coupling in half and used an adhesive sealant to secure the connections. Adding these fittings to your cyclone's ports will make your cyclone more plug-n-play, and as it is anti-static, it makes completing the path to ground simpler too.
