I have the DeWalt 7-1/4" saw. I don't think the dust collection is that great. I use it indoors in my winter (basement) shop so it's my second SCMS, the first being a 12" DeWalt DW708.
It is a nice size for location work, and I have taken it a couple times on the road when doing repairs at my sisters house. For the little work I give it the battery life is fine. I am not using it enough in a day to give a useful comment on battery duration that would be useful.
The hold down clamp is not that great, but I am comparing it to the one that came with my DW708 which is a very nice clamp. Why they didn't use that style on all their miter saws for the past 15 years I don't know, but most seem to offer a worthless clamp compared to the one on my DW708, including the hold down clamp on the 7-1/4 DeWalt cordless SCMS.
I did rig up a connection to my shop vacuum system and do not use the dust bag when in the shop. In this configuration dust collection is pretty good. Openings in the base do allow sawdust to collect below the tool. Which means cleanup requires lifting the saw to get underneath. Not a big deal as it is light but still takes time. There is no way to start the dust collector when the tool starts so that is not convenient but better than cleaning up a mess.
The dust collection system in my basement shop makes use of the whole house vacuum system. I installed an outlet in the shop and have a Oneida UDD that intercepts all the dust I make in the shop, nothing makes it into the dust bin of the house vac. The house vac is a Nutone VX1000 230 CFM HEPA unit which is installed in the garage and exhausts outside so no worries about redistributing the dust around the house and no noise in the house or shop when running. This setup saves me dragging my CT36 up/down the stairs.
The fence could be higher. I like that the table height is the same as a 2x4 on edge which makes supporting your workpiece in the field quick and easy.
What's missing is a flip-down depth of cut stop. I have been trying to come up with a way to fit one that will not interfere with normal operation and look like cr[member=58670]P[/member], but so far haven't come up with a design I like.
