Dewalt 7.25" sliding miter saw

I dont have that one but I do have the Milwaukee.  On that specifically the battery life is excellent with the XC 5.0ah and the dust collection is amazing
I was cutting baseboard in a home last week attached to my VAC090AH.  I'd have to say at least 90% of the dust was sucked up.

I have read the Milwaukee gets great reviews and has a dual bevel feature that the dewalt doesn't offer.  I was leaning more towards the dewalt since I have other cordless tools on that same battery platform.

I have the dewalt 20v (and the old 18v) makita 18v and the miter was my first Milwaukee cordless.  I hated having so many diff battery platforms but I'm so pleased with the Milwaukee miter.  So much so I'm selling all my dewalt cordless stuff to focus on my Makita and Milwaukee.  The saw is that good.

I have one and love it. I started with a 7.25" Kobalt which was nice, but lacked some quality. This little Dewalt is great. It's super easy to carry and move around, especially with one hand. I have a big 12" Craftsman that takes too hands. Great for small jobs and smaller wood. For bigger jobs, I'd still stick with a bigger mitre saw. Battery power seems to be plenty.

I have the Dewalt 7 1/4 cordless,  it’s a great little Saw to pull out on the job site for smaller tasks. It would be nice if it was dual bevel.  Overall it’s a great little Saw, the dust collection is good and I can typically go a whole day on a 6 ah battery. This will be my go to cordless Saw until the Hitachi 7 1/4 Japanese made Saw comes out next year.

I have the Dewalt saw. Very happy with it. Runs most of the day on a 4ah battery. Does 99% of what I need. If you're already on the dewalt 20v platform, I would say it is well worth it.
As for dust collection, it's pretty good. Doesn't turn the vacuum automatically  but got a foot switch on amazon for about 12 bucks and when you press the foot switch it turns the vac on. Saw it on a YouTube video.

I have the DeWalt 7-1/4" saw. I don't think the dust collection is that great. I use it indoors in my winter (basement) shop so it's my second SCMS, the first being a 12" DeWalt DW708.

It is a nice size for location work, and I have taken it a couple times on the road when doing repairs at my sisters house. For the little work I give it the battery life is fine. I am not using it enough in a day to give a useful comment on battery duration that would be useful.

The hold down clamp is not that great, but I am comparing it to the one that came with my DW708 which is a very nice clamp. Why they didn't use that style on all their miter saws for the past 15 years I don't know, but most seem to offer a worthless clamp compared to the one on my DW708, including the hold down clamp on the 7-1/4 DeWalt cordless SCMS.

I did rig up a connection to my shop vacuum system and do not use the dust bag when in the shop. In this configuration dust collection is pretty good. Openings in the base do allow sawdust to collect below the tool. Which means cleanup requires lifting the saw to get underneath. Not a big deal as it is light but still takes time. There is no way to start the dust collector when the tool starts so that is not convenient but better than cleaning up a mess.

The dust collection system in my basement shop makes use of the whole house vacuum system. I installed an outlet in the shop and have a Oneida UDD that intercepts all the dust I make in the shop, nothing makes it into the dust bin of the house vac. The house vac is a Nutone VX1000 230 CFM HEPA unit which is installed in the garage and exhausts outside so no worries about redistributing the dust around the house and no noise in the house or shop when running. This setup saves me dragging my CT36 up/down the stairs.

The fence could be higher. I like that the table height is the same as a 2x4 on edge which makes supporting your workpiece in the field quick and easy.

What's missing is a flip-down depth of cut stop. I have been trying to come up with a way to fit one that will not interfere with normal operation and look like cr[member=58670]P[/member], but so far haven't come up with a design I like.
