To get a mortise lower than that possible with the standard fence you can remove the plastic stops at the top of the fence posts. This gives you another centimetre or so but decreases the rigidity of the fence by less contact with the locking mechanism.

Has any one made a jig which is the reverse of Ron's plate with a reference plate further away from the cutter rather than closer and mounts on the base similar to Ron's plate?

Would putting spacers between the plate and the domino base achieve what you want?

Mat, i removed m tabs a few years ago and i can safely center a 110mm post. The trick is not to put downward pressure on it. I have never had it slip once, and i use it like this all the time.  :)

Like you I thought it reasonable to try having only 1 of the 2 feet on the clamp engaged. However for me that gave far less than 110mm you get. I am lucky to get half that. I tried to be very careful not to put too much stress on the fence but it did slip a bit after multiple plunges.

That would work but it does rely on having the area of the work piece needed to be mortised perfectly parrallel to the reference surface (table top) as well as a perfectly parallel spacer.

Sorry Mat, my mistake. That should read on the pic "55mm" not 110mm, so it centers on a 110mm post.
