Domino Raffles (1/25/07 - 3/2/07)

DARN! :'(

Congrats, you will love this tool. I saw a demo Wed and it looks very cool.

Gary

Thanks Bob, Very funny Matt,
It still feels like this is a very long April Fool's joke ;) But if it is real, thankyou very much to Festool USA and the folks that organized the raffle.
As I mentioned to Matt this couldn't have come at a better time. I was recently given a commission to build 50 meditation platforms for a local retreat center and each one has 32 floating tennons(3200 mortices). :o I was looking for a way to stall the project until April so I could pick up a Domino from Mr. Marino (put me down for 1600 of those little square jobbies Bob). Now the stalling is not necessary and the procrastination takes over.
I'm going to try attaching a picture. Zen babe on platform.
Thanks again,
Mike

Hey Mike  Congradulations you lucky dog /  just remember-in case you forget how to use this silly little- useless tool that nobody really wants.  I would be (well) willing to take it off your hands, but you would have to pay the shipping costs-ok we'll split it. Good Luck

I first have to declare that I reside in the UK and so, I believe, am ineligible for the draw.

As regards principle, I should have thought that, given the spirit of this 'site, it would be perfectly acceptable to change the rules in light of the experience of those rules now available.
I doubt any reasonable person would object to a manifestly fair draw, involving only single entries and, (though this might be a step too far), an entry qualification (length of membership, number of posts etc.).
I readily concede that the practice of making any such amendment might have to be filed under "too late, too difficult".
Regards

WOW, I received an email this morning from Matthew telling me that I won the 4th drawing.  Thanks a ton for working with Festool to get this drawing put together.  Also, I haven't posted this elsewhere, but this new forum is soooooooo much better than the old Yahoo system...joe

Congrats to Brian and all the winners.

Thanks to Matthew and all the folks at Festool for the chance to win a new Domino.

It was a real good marketing idea. It got me an outsider to Festool to take a hard look at these tools. I now know how good these tools function.  I'm buying a sander/vac combo and saving dollars for a Domino and whatever else you guys here get me to buy.

Bravo! Keep making great tools.

Gary

Congratulations Brian!  :D

[cone of silence] And I had that systainer spot all dusted off & wiped down in the shop.... :'( [/cone of silence]

This is a Great Site & I'm glad I found it!

Wow.  Not sure what to say other than thanks!

I can definitely use this tool.

Still recovering.  My wife heard me yell downstairs and thought something was really wrong!

Thanks.

Well I'm not a winner but will be one on April 1st. No fooling, I ordered a Domino today.

Congratulations Brian,

You're gonna love it.

Nice tool, nice gift, nice marketing.

After you get your Domino, you can help sell them to your uninitiated friends.

Mike Ward.

The Domino arrived today, and I just gotta say thanks to all involved from Matt up to Festool.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it came with a systainer full of dominos, all the cutters, and the accessories.

I'm blown away!

Thanks!

It's been a few months now, and we have heard from some of the winners.  The Domino has been out there for a while, and we've seen several discussions about creative jigs and techniques.  I thought it was a good time to ask all the winners how it's going.

Matthew

Hi Matthew,

I just started building an entertainment cabinet with the Domino.  I used it to connect the corner posts to the rails and I will use it for the doors and top.  I haven't decided if I'm going to make DomiDrawers or buy one of the new Leigh dovetail jigs.
The Domino is easy to set up and use and no dust or chips to clean up when used with the CT22!  I'm still amazed that I can layout and cut mortises faster with the Domino than it used to take to set up a router.  It is one of the finest tools I own.

Tom.
