Dust Deputy and Extractor Hose Query

Hi

I have the Festool CTL 26 and the ultimate dust deputy by oneida which work really well together,

I have had some time to organise parts of the workshop and would like to know;

How long can the Dust collection hose be realistically. cyclone to the tool if that makes sense

and

has anyone ever used solid plumbing ( 40mm )pipe to create a permenant fitting with metal tape to ground it?

The reason for this is my workshop is small and i wanted to have an overhead / pull down system in the middle to make things more organised

I am extra happy this week as my two children are starting school/nursery this week and i get our new family car also!!
