Festool Clamps compatible with T Track brands

One person has mentioned the 15 series from 8020.net. I'm a BIG fan of second opinions when I'm about to fork out a bunch of cash for a new project.

Can anyone else confirm that the Festool clamps work in the 15s?

Does anyone know if anyone from 8020 has an account here on FOG?

Thank you [member=44099]Cheese[/member].  Curious if you already had that photo or if you went and snapped it just for this thread. Either way, greatly appreciated.

Is that a piece of 1515?

The 1515 shown is part of a work table I set up outside. I was taking it down and decided to add a couple of clamps and take a photo for your post.

All,

I know it's nearly 10 years old post, but it was so confusing to have all the information that I summarized it.
While I summarized it, why not share the summary.

Quick Clamp -ok- incra T Track
screw Clamp -nok- incra T Track
Quick Clamp -ok- woodpecker track (requires sanding)
screw Clamp -ok- woodpecker track (requires sanding)
Quick Clamp -nok- Lee Valley 1/4 Track

screw Clamp -ok- veritas 5/16 (sloppy)
Quick Clamp -ok- Orange Aluminum" track
screw Clamp -ok- Orange Aluminum" track
Quick Clamp -ok- Dakota 1/2" T Track

The only doubt I had was with regards to the difference between quick clamp and srew type clamp. So they don't have the same thickness ? is that why with incra t-track, only the quick clamp will fit ?

8020 has an E-Bay store and I have bought a couple thousand $s worth through there.  They recently made orders available directlyhttps://www.8020.net/peaceofmind-online-ordering.  They also have  a network of distributors and if you request a catalog they also provide contact info for the nearest distributor.

Thanks [member=58095]Chrisprols[/member] for bringing some order to the chaos.  Maybe @SRSemenza can copy and paste your list to the head of the thread.

Yup, done.

Newer Festool screw type and quick clamps have the same slimmer profile. There was only a difference in them years ago.

In this case, there is no point to split compatibility between screw type and quick clamps.
I updated the list (it makes it lighter, less of a headach to read) :

ok- incra T Track
ok- woodpecker track (requires sanding)
nok- Lee Valley 1/4 Track
ok- Lee Valley 5/16 track(Item 12K7932)
ok-  40 series of 8020 Inc. extrusions
nok- Rockler T Track
ok- the base of the Incra LS Positioner
ok- 15 series extrusions from 80/20
nok- Kreg regular track
nok- Kreg Top Trak
ok- veritas 5/16 (sloppy)
ok- Orange Aluminum" track
ok- Dakota 1/2" T Track

So FWIW...
I decided I needed to be able to add some quick clamps to some 80/20 rails without removing the rails from the work table.

So, using an OF 1010, MFS and a 1/4" x 1/4" carbide end mill, I enlarged the channel so that this was possible. Just an example of what you can do with a router while working in aluminum. Just dial the speed down and take small cuts.

And don't climb cut!!!

So that's just the entry port you router there [member=44099]Cheese[/member] ?  I assume it can now slide back and forth in the channel?

You got it Edward, it just makes using quick clamps real easy, and they'll slide the full length of the 80/20.

The cutout only needs to be 23mm x 93mm, however at the 93mm length, the clamps interfere with the router travel. So, I had to make it 23mm x 143mm and then put in two 25mm spacers to act as router stops. Those are the wooden squares you see at each end.

My New Profile Bench is working well with Festool Clamps..

They look like 40x40mm Bosch-Rexroth extrusions with 10 mm slots. I have those. 10 mm slots are little too wide, the clamp will grab but on the very edges, 0.5 mm on each side. I'm afraid it might chew up the sides of the slot if you tighten it well.

Peachtree Woodworking is near my home and shop and they sell their own t-track in store and online at ptreeusa.com as well as at
ttrackusa.com.  They actually sell two different sizes.

Mini T-Track - Designed to work with 1/4" hex bolts: Festool screw and quick clamps do NOT work with this t-track.  Neither do the Grizzly screw clamps that work with guide rails.
Here is the Peachtree Mini t-track:https://www.ptreeusa.com/ttrack_track.html andhttp://ttrackusa.com/track_ systems.htm#1021

Heavy Duty T-Track - Works with 3/8" hex bolts: The Festool screw and quick clamps as well as the Grizzly screw clamps work with this t-track - but it is a really sloppy fit.
Here is the Peachtree Heavy Duty  t-track:https://www.ptreeusa.com/ttrack_track.html andhttp://ttrackusa.com/track_ systems.htm#1018

A note on the sloppiness of the clamps in the Heavy Duty t-track: You can position the clamp foot inside the track to where one edge of the clamp foot is not under the t-track.  The clamp foots are large enough they cannot twist out of the t-track completely though.  I have some of the Lee Valley 5/16" t-track and all of the clamps mentioned work with that and are a much better fit, plus it is cheaper.

Hi,

Thanks very much for the update and added info!

Seth,
You can add:
Bosch-Rexroth 30 mm - OK
Bosch-Rexroth 40 and 45 mm - barely OK, will grab, but 10 mm opening is a bit wide
Woodpecker Supertrack (5 slots) - OK, but might require sanding of the clamp, about 0.25 mm
