Festool Table Saw

I really want a portable, job site friendly table saw but the fact that it is 100% battery powered is stupid. I have power available 99% of the time. Just make it a corded saw that can run on batteries for chrissakes. Poorly thought out.

Festool make  3  table  saws.
TKS 80 - 230v
Preciso CS 50 - 230v
CSC SYS 50 - 18v cordless.

Dewalt  have  a  corded  chop  saw  that  runs  on  batteries. And from what I have heard,  the  corded  adapter  transformer  is  burning  out  the  motor  and  users  are  being advised  to ditch  the adapter.
I  would  never  buy a  table  saw  that  runs  on batteries. Id  sooner  run a  generator.

Festool makes 4. You forgot the CS70.  [smile]

Hi
Bought the saw the day after it came out on September 7th. I'm 67 years old and back  to working alone. I used a 8 inch Makita table saw for years and still have it. Dropped it into a Rousso stand to double the rip capacity to 24 inches. Still have the stand too. Picked up two saw stop job site saws and set up one in my shop and lugged the second one back and forth to the job site. When the compact sawstop model came out I sold one of the job site saws and picked up a compact one. The compact saw has finger saving technology, 24 inch rip, and its compact right? I found it to heavy and large for my ripping needs and have all the track saw goodies for large rips when needed. I now have the compact saw stop in storage too.
I needed a small easy to use rip saw for cabinet work on site. I have used the sys50 on three kitchen jobs since buying it and am very pleased. The few contractors that I allowed to use it loved it too. New saw owners are complaining about the miter gauge being loose, lock it in place and release the table and guess what, I don't need my miter saw on all my jobs anymore.
I got the kit with the batteries and stand and set it up and got to work right away. I did find that it uses up the batteries before the day is done so I picked up a second set of batteries dedicated just for this saw, life is good.
I miss the old days and working with my 5 man crew on big additions and remodeling jobs. We used to bring all stock to be cut to a cutting station where all the tools were plugged in. Guys running all over, sawdust and noise etc. Now I can cut where the work is inside the home, its quiet, with not much sawdust or cleanup.
This saw is perfect for me at this stage of my career and I'm very pleased with it.

This sums up my experience perfectly. It’s a really great saw and integrates really well in the festool system.
