I gather that a number of you have taken 1 or more classes at the GPD Academy.  Any recommendations on hotels.  Poking around google maps now but would prefer some where that one of you can recommend.  Thank you.

I stayed at a Holiday Inn, Biltmore West recommended by Festool. With a Festool referral you will get a discount and free breakfast. The van from Greg's facility will pick you up in the morning and drop you off.  If you have your own car then of course you can stay at any hotel nearby I was initially booked at the Fairfield Inn and Suites, Asheville Outlets but changed it to the Holiday Inn.
Is Greg still offering courses in this Covid 19 times?

I have attended two of Greg’s classes and both times stayed at the same Holiday Inn.  The hotel is an easy interstate drive about 10-15 minutes east of his shop.  Going west the same amount of time will get you to downtown Asheville.  Many places to eat are nearby.  You should get a discount if you mention you are attending his class.

Thanks for the info.  No, all classes are on hold for the time being, but checking out the hotel info as I hope to get to a few classes.  I am only 150 miles from his shop.

Thanks, I will check on the discounts.  I had seen only options around Asheville.  I still have a bunch of Marriott points I had hoped to use but I think the Holiday Inn looks like the winner.

When you register for the class the email will give you the code to give to the hotel in making the reservation. One word of advice, rather than calling the 1-800 number for Holiday Inn, just call the actual hotel number to make your reservations, less chance of screw up on the discount and offer--ask me how I know.

[big grin] Been there, done that.  I know exactly what your talking about.  Used to travel a lot for work.  Local comms is the only way to minimize problems.  Thanks Vijay.
