Hi,

I recently purchased a new TSV 60 specifically for a project I am working on using HPL.  The saw is amazing !  Excellent results, no chip out.  Just debating whether to keep my TS60 for non veneer use.

Best regards.

I would say that's the sort of question that will work itself out naturally with time.

From what I've seen, the TSV is somewhat of a large machine, so it may be that you won't want to use it for non-veneer projects or smaller cuts, but that's ultimately a comfort/personal decision.

I agree with squall'....the extra weight that the scoring system brings would likely be noticable if you were going to be a lot of work that didn't benefit from it. Unless you need the money really bad, I wouldn't unload the "regular" 60.

The TSV is a specialised machine aimed at guys who cut laminated material all day, every day. For general work, the TS60 is an infinitely better option given the substantial extra weight (and especially length) of the TSV. You can achieve an identical, zero-chip result on laminate using a TS60 by reverse scoring. Set the blade depth to 2mm, start at the far end of the rail, plunge, and draw the saw backwards towards you so that the blade's cutting downwards into the material rather than bursting up through it. Once that's done, proceed with the cut as normal.
