You know, it's not exactly rocket science to fill in a form.
You are willing to work for hours to earn the money that pays for that tool, why not spend a couple of minutes extra to get an extended warranty? Don't make it sound as if 3 years is the standard now, it's still an extra.

It is not as you say. For years most European governments mandated a 1 year warranty on consumer goods. Festool started extending that period all by itself, given that you registered. All they want in return is that you fill in a form with your details and send that to them.
As a company, if you want to get out of paying for repairs, the last thing you do is offer a free extended warranty. What it gives the company back is information on you, the buyer, as they can now use you for marketing research and as a target for special advertising and custom offerings. Overall, this probably profits Festool more than the extra 2 years of warranty repairs costs them.
A little known and little publicised fact though is that since a couple of years the European Union mandates no longer a 1 year, but a 2 year warranty period on all consumer goods. There is even a clause that is pretty vague and talks about something like 'reasonable expected use' of consumer goods that might give you an even longer right on warranty repairs, if you're willing to confront your manufacturer for it. Saw this on some consumer rights TV program a while ago.

Yes, I think it was your responsibility to register the new Kapex if that's Festool UK's policy, however, since the replacement Kapex came directly from Festool, they should have the date and any necessary information on the incident so there's no reason for them to be hassling you. There's shared responsibility here and they should just take care of the Kapex. Period.
Now go register your damn saw! [tongue]

I totally agree with you ken for the first time you have made sense! That's what I meant it's kinda both our faults it was silly of me to assume that the replacement was automatically registered but it's silly of festool not to do it automatically any way.
I do have 2 warranty papers for my T15 when they replaced that which I have just found out when I decided just to go through all my warranty papers just! Just only one kapex DAM! It lol

Just a reminder, this is the second time. Remember how you agreed with me when I told you to get rid of that Christmas present sweater?
