Hi,

I'm wondering whether anybody has info about connecting Festool vacuums to tools of other brands?

I have a Bosch mitre saw and a Bosch sander plus a CT Mini, but I don't know if they can be made to play together.

Thanks in advance,

Nike

Nike,

The D27 or D36 hose will will hook to a Bosch Miter Saw dust port.  I use a Fein hose adapter to connect to most of my other non-Festool tools.  I use a second, cut-down Fein hose adapter to hook to a Makita Belt Sander.

Check out this topic:http://festoolownersgroup.com/index.php?topic=21 for sources.  Coastal Tool has them at a great price.  I bought mine at Woodcraft for around $5.

Regards,

Dan.

The CT hose connects to many tools of other brands. Works on my DeWalt SCMS, Bosch planer and jigsaw, PC sanders and CS, etc.

In fairness, however, I should confess that the CS and sanders have been replaced with Festools, but it did work when I needed them.

I use my CT 22 with my DW621 router and with my DW SCMS if I'm out of the shop.  It works fine with both and any problems with dust extraction are more a function of the tool I'm connecting it to, rather than the vacuum.

Nike,
I have a CT22, and I've hooked it up to my Porter+Cable biscuit joiner.  Makes a perfect connection and collects most of the dust.  This helps when running several biscuits in a row, so you don't have to stop and clear away dust from each cut and dust does not collect on your work surface.

Now that I have a Domino, I'm not sure how often I'll be using my biscuit joiner!  But when I do, I will always hook it up to the CT22.

Thanks for all the responses. I think the Fein adapter is exactly what I need -- I can just cut it to size to fit whatever tool I have to use.

I found a section of clear tubing available at Ace Hardware works well connecting my CT22 with a Rotozip dust attachment, and also to my Kreg pocket screw base.
