I'd agree! I built a 17' long bar last year using rail-guided Festools. There is no better way to get that long of a cut straight. The sanders kept my lungs clear of locust and walnut dust, too.[attachimg=#]
My house isn't big enough. I built it and donated it to my local Elks lodge. The base is built of locally grown ash; the top is honey locust framed with walnut. All stock was rough when I started, so I used up a round of sharpening on my jointer & planer. There is a little MDF under the tiled footrest.
