First rails, any reason not to just get LR32 ones?

Hi all, first post here. I am making my first investments in the Festool world and am looking for 2 x 1400 rails. I plan to purchase the LR32 system at some point for drilling shelf pin holes. I am thinking of buying 2 x 1400 LR32 rails to use with my plunge saw and router now and for LR32 use in the future. The price difference is minimal, so is there any reason to not go this way?  Are the LR32 rails exactly the same as the standard ones apart from the additional holes?

Thanks

Sean

All the reasons to get LR32 ones. This holds also outside US where they are more expensive.

Getting non-LR32 rails is the most common mistake. Yes, I made it too.

The only case I can imagine is if one needs a set of the new KP rails with the self-sticking holes.

Get the rails. That's what I did when I bought the TSC55.

I did as you and got the LR32 System a little later. I bought the
FS1400 rails knowing the LR32 System would be coming soon.

Thank you both. I've just placed an order!  Unfortunately only one in stock, but I will keep an eye out for another

Yeah, just get a  LR32 one, works just the same as a normal one but you have more choices later on.
Think the one I have was an extra tenner over the normal one. Shucks.

One very small point is that the holes let dust settle slightly more on the workpiece and when you lift the rail off theres a liine of small dust spots.. Thats only really when using my HKC55 without extraction though.

Still worth getting over the normal one though.

I was fortunate to have a very good dealer when I bought the first lot of Festool gear after recovering from a shop fire. I didn't have a TS before, but got one in that bulk purchase. He did advise me to get the holey rail, even if I didn't see the LR32 system in the near future. His thinking was that it couldn't hurt to have the option. He was right, it was over a year later, but I did end up with the drilling plate.
I'm actually thinking about getting a 2424 rail for the collection. Even if I never use it for drilling, there are times when the 1900 is just not enough, but 3000 is overkill.

For some reason, that doesn't entirely make sense to me, the price (here in the US) is the same.
As I later learned from some other members here, that is not the case in Europe.
