Street car vs Race car.  Race begins at 6:06.  Friendly gesture at 9:19 ::)

Love it.

I just can't get over how relaxed these guys are, just tapping his hands on the wheel like he's on the freeway.

Jon

I know right?  Did you see that other video that I posted with the guy flying through the Nurburgring in a hooptie?  So. Awesome.

"Your race car should drive easier than your street car."

Don't remember where that line was from, but a good reminder for us tuner boys to always stay focused on intended purpose and design.

I think I noticed it first when I watched that hooptie one.  I mean, I went to F1 boston a couple of times, and I had a death grip on the wheel my first couple of races.  Killed my wrists.  Eased up on the pressure, and it was so much more fun and felt more in control.

Would love to take a hooptie around a race track!

Ya know, my NASA driving instructor has always told me to just bring a rental car to the track.  We're doing non-competitive open track driving events, so he said just kick back, relax, and work on fine tuning my line, while opening up eyes and ears to take in more sensory input at the slower pace of the rental.

Seems a very good idea (he does it himself plenty), but I'm not sure why I feel more at ease putting my own track car at risk as opposed to a rental.  Social mechanical responsibility??  ::) *shrug

VW 918 Spyder... at Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas

Come on man!! VW?!? We have come a long way since then.

The PORSCHE 918 is a marvel. My wife said we should get a hybrid... I showed her that.

Edit: corrected typo

Well, not so common man since it would be pushing 1.5M€ here retail...  [scared]

Nothing is more common than a Ford Mustang.  [smile]

Zero to two hundred in thirty seconds/one mile.

Great for when you're late for work.

I was wondering where all the Porsche guys were here on the FOG.  Engineering masterpieces as always.  It's just fun giving you guys a hard time muahahaha

That all said, isn't there some... oh... what was it called... VW 16.4 Super Sport that holds some silly World Record or something....?  ::)

It always brings a smile to my face when a car is so spectacular, so out of this world, that it dumbfounds the best of automotive journalists

Just beautiful, form and function

Porsche 911 vs... as always... the GT-R

I was reading about the launch control the other day. Got to love Porsche electronics... When they don't cause your GT3 to catch fire. ;)

Also love it when a Barbie Porsche beats Godzilla.
