Free Tools - really!

Got it -

Even better - a length adjustable arm....one of those twist to lock things.

A third hand!

[big grin]

Exactly!

Not sure about the adjustable arm. Keep it simple (and inexpensive). The fewer moving parts when you’re making fine adjustments the better.

If it’s a fixed length arm then just light taps are the adjustment.

I'm not near my tools but found a picture on my computer.

So far all saws pictured seem to be in pristine condition.  [big grin] [poke]
Come on! Show few scars, throw some dust around!

Some take better care of what they own than others do. [big grin]
This is a picture of my 17 year old pickup. The paint is all original.
Do you ever drive it. It looks great.

It gets driven. It has over 130,000 miles on it.

Thank you Rob, I got mine when I got home late last night. Unfortunately I didn't know to grab the 1x material from the window frames as it would have been perfect and FREE! Dang it! Should be able to find some scrap soon enough though.

Hi -

Thought I throw in a couple of images of how I used it on my last project. I had to true and rip a 7" board into 2" strips for my face frame....

(hose removed for clarity!)

I could "walk" the track to the left with each cut .... no problem.

I am impressed, so much so, I ordered one this very day. Great idea; an improvement over the foam sheet I have been using on top of my Serpentine folding stand.  However, curious about nomenclature. Is this a tool, jig, kit, thingamajig, or just what? I would not consider this a "tool". But, what do I know..? If it is free. it can be called whatever.... Thanks Rob et al for a great...."....."

Wow!  This is so cool!

Thank you so much.  I was happy to get the kit and I will put it to good use.

Clark, don’t toss that foam sheet. Cutting with air under the work piece significantly reduces dust collection.

Rob, looks like you’re a good candidate for the cordless saw. That power cord is getting ready to slow your progress.

But you can use it over the panel platform :)

Thank you Rob.

The brackets will be very useful in the shop. I also do a lot of on site work. After seeing the bracket, my first thought was that I could add some pins to the bottom of them, drill some holes in my saw horses & make a cutting platform on the horses. Then someone posted a link to some 1x & 2x brackets that come with pins. I will be ordering some of those very soon.

After Rob Lee's fun giveaway of the Panel Platform last week, I just had to try a few of their similar saddles that have the variable dog posts.  Now my old 1986 vintage Workmate has learned some new tricks and makes a handy portable cutting table for small spaces.  Cuts are easily made in 2 directions with the track saw.  I expect to see them escape from my shop as I saw my son eyeing them.  [eek]

Thank you Rob for a neat idea and yes, you do need more projects.  [smile]

If your free set disappears mysteriously [wink], you can get a new set (in the next free shipping event), and you will feel like enjoying a 50% discount on your purchase!

I like your portable workbench idea, too. The two sets I have ordered are waiting for me to pick up...and use.

Ive been using something similar that I made using 3/4 dowls ground down to fit into the holes of my MFT and glued into 3/4 plywood.

I think these things will work good 4 per a mft will give me the support I need to rip ply using these with the dog hole attachments. I can just hang the 1" pieces of wood on the wood wall till I need them.

Gonna order a set of 8 today/tonight
