I liked Peter's char making videos so much I spread them out over two evenings, and they gave me gate ideas.
So I am doing a gate...
And using that to justify the use of a Domino...
The first gate is ~1600-mm wide and ~1600-mm high.
Thinking of a top and bottom rail (or is it a stile?) with 2 vertical "ends" butted into the top and bottom, and another 2 verticals so that I have room for 3 insert panels with hardwood ply.
The verticals and stiles will all come out of ~45-mm think Mereti or maybe Kapur.
So likely ~45-mm square.
Will I need a "Z" shape with a diagonal to keep it from parallelogramming?
or...
If I use pairs of 8, 10, or 12-mm dominos at each joint will that be good with the plywood floating panels to maintain rigidity?
