Hi folks- before I cut (and make) my dominos, I thought I would seek any advise.  Iron (African Teak) gate that is 48in wide and 72in tall, 90lb.  Pic below.  1.75x7.5 stiles and rails, and (6) 0.75x7.5 slats in between.  Going with 14mm x 140 (?) for the stiles and rails and 8mm x 80 (?) for the slats.  3 dominos per joint, spaced 1in from the edge of the boards.

That will be 24 dominos in the final glue up.  I will have a helper, and I 3D printed the mortise glue tips for 14mm and 8mm dominos to hopefully help get the glue in quickly.

Does this sound about right?  Would it be good to stagger the lengths of the dominos to help assy so that only 2 boards engage at the same time?

If you taper the ends of all dominos with some rough sandpaper / a file / your sander the glue up will become infinitely easier as the tenons will then have a tendency to locate the hole by themselves.

Is your concern mostly assembly time and getting things clamped up within glue open time??  If so then below might help.

I've had really good luck dry fitting one side of my assembly to keep everything aligned then glueing the other side.  After clamped side dries pull the dry fit apart and glue it.  Slow but low stress.
(I pretty much do full dry fits all my assemblies anyhow)

A shim under the slats to position them to match mortise height might help.

What Hawkeye said for tapering Domino ends.

Thanks guys!  Yes, the tenon size, spacing, and any glue up tips.  I will be using Titebond 3 and I'm in So Cal where temps are in the low 70's at the moment.  I read to chill the glue, but I suppose a thin film will heat up to the wood temp very quickly.

1.  Stiles/Rails 140mm length- max possible basically
2.  Domino 1in from edge- since this is heavy and overhung
3.  24 dominos to glue at the same time- doesn't sound like I'm crazy based on feedback so far, so hopefully this is possible with prep.
4.  If it is too risky, one idea for the slats is to not glue them or glue only the outer 2 to bring it down to 18 dominos to glue, etc.
5.  Staggered domino length- maybe heavy chamfer is good enough to align all the slats at the same time.
6.  I think I will apply the glue to the stiles/rails last so that these big dominos have the best lubricity for assy.
