Has anyone purchased the festool digital level?

Looking in to getting a digital level, one that beeps when level. They are suppose to be good for leveling kitchen units when working on your own. Has anyone got the festool one?? Its alot of cash (that's festool) I understand stabila make them for festool. I've seen a stabila one which looks almost the same, just yellow, for alot less money.
What do you think? Are digital levels worth the extra money??

Axminster have one that 'beeps' I think it's BMI and it's cheaper than the Festool - but it's not green and black

I have also thought about upgrading my stabila level to the digital festool. But I just cant justify the cost. If I was installing kitchens or built-ins every week then I think it would be a good purchase.

The Festool rep showed me the level I think its very nice whether I could be persuaded to part with that amount of money is another thing,

if you do want to buy one It may be worth looking at slingers 1858 website as they are discounted at the moment.

I cant believe you aint got a digital level yet!  They are a must have level!  Brilliant I have had mine for few years now not festool though but still a digital level which beeps and tells you the angle.    

My mate just bought one last week after working with me on a roof he said: I cnt believe I had not bought one before.    He hates me I keep making him spend his money!   First I got him to buy TS55  now Digital Level and we was doing some flooring and I have a few flooring tools which is loves and is now also going to buy!

Every one I work with starts spending money lol!  My other work mate has bought Mafel Saw Festool Saw quite a few Milwaukee cordless stuff all after working with me for a while!  I think I need to contact some companies and become a Rep!

Both of them where Dewalt fans! Not any more!

Any way back on topic sorry I talk 2 much really!    The Digital level really shines for roofing finding angles and checking your roof pitch things like that.

 For kitchen units  umm I dont really use mine for that to be honest even though it does come in when your doing lets say a corner unit so your right at the back on the floor and you dont wanna keep crawling back up to just check your level so  you just keep turning till your hear a beep

Festool hasn't sold digital levels in the 'States but Stabila does and I suspect they make the levels that Festool sells NAINA.

Digital levels are popular here for a variety of reasons. One reason is to easily determine angles of ramps, like for compliance with requirements for the less fortunate (the handicapped).

The audible report when reaching a desired angle helps a lot, especially since most people making things can always use another hand...

In Europe the Festool level is made by Stabila. It look pretty much like the exact same thing with an other color, but it is not. Festool asked for some little improvements an Stabila took those requests to the digital festool level. At a fair in Frankfurt this spring I was shown by a Stabila rep. how robust the digital level from Stabila is. Fell in love with it immediately, but until now I was able to resist.  ;D
I am not sure which one to buy the yellow (non DeWalt [scared]) one ore the much more expensive black/green one [not worthy].

I should!  I get calls from work mates regularly and on the job   questions about tools what tools to use or is der a tool which could help progress this job along.  I find it odd how many people have not got a clue about tools available on the market. Not just tools also fixings and glues things like that.  

That large screw I posted on the other topic the other day  EVERY ONE I have shown the screw to has NEVER seen one before I have been using them for a while and many other things.  

The Digital Level is one of them many people are like wow thats posh then they tell me or show me what they have  and its a crapy stabile with an adjustable bubble which you turn to get it level and it tells you the angle  OR  them angle finder levels they are rubbish in some situations and are often to short to get a true readin!

Like this window Guy came the other week measure up windows and two of them are to the angle of the roof!    

The builder said I got the roof Bang on with in a mm to the window Guy.      

The window Guy still checked of course and said the pitch was  0.8 degree out on one side!    I was like NO way!  I used my digital level and it showed  34 on both sides bang on. okay one side did jump between 33.9/34 so might of been .1 out depending where you slid the level on the rafter.     The reason why his showed out a lot more cus he was using short level angle finder which went against the brick work  but your relying on the brick work being level and bricks are not dead flat which affects the angle.

My Level I bought a few years ago before I knew about Festool! 1200mm

Maybe Take a look at this level?  Its only 600mm which to me is to short I think you need atleast 1200 to be more accurate.

Because I live and work in the USA I do not own a Festool digital level.

However, like all the cabinet makers working for me I own a digital level. I find that a handy tool. I assume that Festool designed some improvements and either makes them or contracts to have the Festool levels made to Festool exacting specifications.

I also own a useful laser surveying system which we use to make "as-built" working drawings of rooms for which we are building cabinets after the walls are completely installed. Almost always when we install cabinets we bring a laser level which casts a level line all around the room. The height of that line can be set. Still, we also carry digital levels in several lengths.

I went to festool dealer to take a look at their levels, they only had the 1400 and 350 ones no 800 digital. Didn't have any digital levels so still not sure whether to get one. I wondering whether the festool one at 800mm long would be long enough for kitchen fitting.
The chap in the shop told me about the new Bosch one with a detachable range finder which would be handy but he doesn't think it has an audible beep when levelling, which really is why I won't one when I'm lying on the ground adjusting feet.
Might try another dealer when get some time between jobs.

Macklenburg-Duncan has been making digital levels for many years, one of which is the display unit that's actually a small level by itself and mounts into different size level frames which would keep the overall costs down.

+1 one  I say go for the 1200 level thats the one I have best size most accurate the longer the level the better accuracy on timbers!
