Fast fix angle chuck, rail cramps & panther blade arrived today ???

It's probably the "rail cramps" that have him worried.  I think they have a pill that will fix that.  ;)

All the UK woodworking authors I have ever read refer to cramps- Alan Peters, Robert Wearing etc. I think in the UK they make a distinction between clamps and cramps, one provides permanent pressure the other temporary (possibly). In the US and Canada, we just call them all clamps.

To be honest, I don't really understand the difference!  [huh]

Maybe someone from the UK could chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, good luck with the cramps!

i hate the word cramps. not sure why.
i have loads of clamps.
mostly called clamps here anyway

I was taught, and have passed  it on to countless pupils, that we cramp (force) things together with clamps.
Hope I'm right, or if proved incorrect, [smile] that none of my former students read the FOG!

Hope that helps,
Kieran

T-minus whatever feels right when it comes to Festool! Thats my motto!

I decided today I need another Vac just because I am sick of unplugging the hose on my Midi. We all need counseling!

I can see an entire section of the forum developed along the lines of "Festool equipment financial justification equations"  [wink]

Hey Kev maybe we can write a book….

Festool Tool book

How to explain your purchases to the wife

I had a tough time explaining to the wife that I was going to use the tax return to buy a Kapex.

It's a British thing.   They have "cramps" instead of clamps, and "tyres" instead of tires, and who knows what other ersatz things they're barely scraping by with.  Heck, they don't even have beer (and wine) bottles with twist-off caps--they've gotta use a bottle opener, just like our grandparents did before the war.  Yep, we should probably feel pretty sorry for them.  I'll have to remember all this, it'll be good fodder to scold my son with next time he's not sufficiently grateful for all the plastic things we buy for him from WalMart.

Regards,

John
