here we go again

Hey Kev maybe we can write a book….

Festool Tool book

How to explain your purchases to the wife

Top idea! We could cover everything from generously offering to take out the garbage, when sneaking new tools from your boot to the workshop ... through to inventing an imaginary friend named Bob, who is very generous at lending you tools, but unfortunately works nights and weekends and is never about for your wife to meet.

Advanced practice would have readers learning how to have postcards sent from Bob in Europe, telling you about a new tool he picked up and will have available to borrow in a few weeks time so you can try it.

Fixed that lousy auto correct ... grrr.

my girlfriend and I have sort of a unspoken contest with tools, she like tools as much as jewels,if I find great deal on anything ,I get two,if I know whats good for me

Plus a entire chapter on handling guilt, you know how to handle the justification of spending our retirements on tools…

I pretty good at that one

Well it turned up this afternoon 1st time I have seen or held 1 in the flesh,  it's a beast of a machine!
Had a quick go can't believe how quick it cuts, got to get my head around how to set it up for the opposite joints, but looking forward to getting acquainted with it [big grin]

Question are the 14mm dominos wider than the 12mm?

Yes, they're wider since the diameter of the bit is larger.

Relax, take a deep breath ... listen to the trees and the wind.

Now that you're calm and relaxed, listen to that quiet little voice in the distance - yes, that's the ROTEX calling you. It needs a home, go get it.

Of1400 arrived yesterday the verdict is out at the moment,  will have to use it a bit more first

had to really lock the fence down today as it moved by 3 mm when using it, dc not quite as good as I thought mind my filter was clogged didn't realise until finished what i was doing.
love the rachet lock and the fine adjustment to the fence.
Feels a bit strange as different handle style to what I'm used to

Does it feel top heavy? And is it maneuverable? I think I am going with the 1010 because the 1400 just seems too big. I realize all the limitations of the 1010. 1400 is nice just large

Don't treat it like a heavy duty router, I pushed mine to hard, now got best part of £200 for new armature and bearing plus plug it cord.
