Hidden audio cabinet suggestions

I have a project coming up that I will be trimming out a fireplace bump out to look like a series of recessed panels. On one side I need to have a small cabinet to put the cable box and a few other items for the flat screen above the actual fireplace. My idea was to make one of the recessed panels open to reveal this space, the client loved the idea. Now the fun in figuring out how to make it work!

I was thinking of using some kind of cup hinge with maybe a push release magnetic catch. Does anyone have any suggestions on construction or hardware to use? One of my concerns is that the face of the door will be recessed 3/4" from the face of the rails so the hinge would have to swing in a way to miss the rails.

Thoughts, sugestions?

I had a look at those Ikea push throw catches. It looked to me as though they dont have any means to keep the door or drawer closed like the Blum magnetic ones do. Am I missing something? Would you use a separate magnetic catch with the Ikea catches?

Presumably there is some depth as you'll be using it for a cable box, so how about using some push to open drawer runners instead? That way, the recess actually helps you and the clearance required will be less than attempting to find a hinge suitable for opening a door. You could even make each of the panels with some depth behind them a push to open drawer for things like remote controls, manuals etc.

Unfortunately there won't be pull outs, the audio guy (3PedalMini) has requested a wider cabinet inside then the recessed panel door width will allow. There is another location with the audio rack, this area I believe will only have the cable box, maybe an Apple TV.

So I guess it will be boult almost like a face frame cabinet.

Looks like some of the Blum hinges might work.
