...to your wife? I got an RO 150, DX 73, CT22...and then later a TS55 with the explaination that with them, I could do the demolition and prep for out kitchen counter top remodel instead of paying someone else to do it. Now that it's done, and I'm thinking I really need a MFT, especially to use my TS55 on. I could use some good lines to convice my wife I really need to spend another $500 or so on a folding table (how she will see it). :o

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.  ;)

There has been much written here regarding the MFT, give the archives a check. You will use it for more projects than you'd think you would. Wayne Tinker said it best - "The limitations of the MFT are those of your imagination" - or sumthin' like that;>).

Well, in my shop, if I can get it into the shop and dispose of the box without her seeing....then it's always been there, honey.  ;D  I had to add some humour to Bob's seriousness.

My dual MFT is the center of my garage shop.  I use it for every project.  It is a workbench.  It is a crosscutting table.  It is a glueup table.  And it is an excellent place for my wife to unload shopping bags when she comes home from the store.

"Honey, you know that $2,600 corner cabinet you've been looking at down at the Ethan Allen store? Well, I can build that same piece using the tools I already own, plus a $500 multi-functional work table that helps insure a professional job, AND even with the cost of materials, we'll save over $1,200! Plus, unlike the one in the store, I can design in a hidden compartment that only you and I will know about. Now . . . do you want me to build it in cherry or walnut?"

I agree the last line was pure art - in the finest traditions!  With that kind of positive attitude, might as well go for Domino as well - and promise a nice dining room table and chairs.  Either Cherry or Walnut sound good to me.

A good european style workbench runs about $2,500.  You could offer to sacrifice that and get by somehow with a measly few hundred dollar MFT.

Nice  ;D

Lots of great ideas....and a few that might get me in more trouble... :o  ;D ;D

I've also looked at articles from Jerry Work and other on the different uses and neat things you can do. I am starting to come up with a plan..... Pics will follow in a few weeks, if I can pull it off.

Thanks again, and additional ideas are always welcome.

Just tell her it is a hobbie and you really need it to compleate your system.  You didn't get it before becuare it is pretty new.  Just explain to her if you get it you will build cool things otherwise you can just spend tim at the bar and spend money that way.
