I bought two MFT/3's the other day ;D.  I am still in the process of getting the work area ready for them, and indecisive as to how to set them up.

There are several configurations, and I am just wondering how others have set theirs up.

How do you end up leaving them?  Is that how you started?  Why did you switch?

I bought two whole packages, rather than just the basic (actually, the ts55/MFT kit, and a stand-alone one).  I figured that, for $100 more, I was getting an $80 rail, plus extra parts...

I have a parallel edge guide on the way as well, which would likely result in other setup options, but I am thinking that it would be attached when needed, and not left in place.

Thanks!

I have 2 MFT1080s and have tried several setups.  What I finally settled on was one stationary, and I move the other around (or use it for site work).  Generally, I butt the long edges together.

I have a mobile table that serves as a complement to the MFT (same height, same design) though it is not actually a MFT.
I tend to use this table more like a horse, to hold long pieces that would bend or fall down if not well supported.
So 90% of the time it is on the right side of the MFT.

I wanted the added cutting depth, so I set up my two MFTs with a longer rail.  I seldom use the MFTs to do angled cuts.
