How to get a metric OF1400 in the US?

I'm confused also. I thought that the guide stop was extra and that it came with the support foot to support the side that is not on the rail. I would want the support foot to be metric also.

I'll have to stop by a dealer and take a look, and try turning the micro adjust 20 or 30 times if possible. That should reveal the increments

The scope of delivery has changed over the years. I believe that the OF1400 I purchased a dozen years ago did come with the support foot, but the guide stop was an extra. I sold that router years back and purchased a new Imperial version a year or two ago. My new OF1400 did not come with either the guide stop or the support foot -- they are both extras.

The support foot is scaled in metric.

I just checked the micro adjust earlier this morning and could only turn it 2.4 turns (24 increments). It is obvious that the increments are NOT Imperial. The increments are metric.

There, I just saved you a trip to your dealer!  [big grin]

So the price is jacked up annually while at the same time parts are being removed and sold as accessories. The percent increases are absurd in regards to nearly every other product sold on earth.

Thanks for saving me a trip!  [smile]  I just hope that they have not changed it, but like others, I highly doubt it.  I did some checking on their website and here is what I found. This is assuming that the website is accurate.

- "Also included with the Guide Stop is a support foot to levels the router to the surface of the guide rail, ensuring smooth, accurate results and increased stability." So it appears that the support foot comes with the guide stop now. I was going to buy a guide stop.

- "Micro-adjustable depth control to 1/256" (1/10 mm) with ball detents which allows you to dial in your routing with tremendous precision." Looks like what everyone has been saying is true. It is metric still.

Also the range is defined as 8 mm
Routing depth fine adjustment range    5/16" (8 mm)

I think I'll also get the edge guide.

The Guide Stops and the Edge Guide are "must have" accessories for this router. Do get both!  [thumbs up]

... Currently, the OF1400 does not ship with the support foot. It does come with the Guide Stop FS-OF 1400 which still has the metric scale. The Guide Stop allows you to use your router on the Guide Rail.

And, I see I didn't word my first post in this thread very good... When I stated "It does come with the Guide Stop," I was referring to the Support Foot rather than the router. So, yes, the Support Foot is included with the Guide Stop accessory. Sorry if I caused any confusion.

After reading the specification for the fine adjustment range that you posted, I rechecked to find that I had checked this when the router was already in the middle of its range. Doing this correctly, now, I find that my router actually has 9 mm of fine adjustment. Hmmm, just a silly millimeter longer.  [wink]
