I wish the US would just convert to the metric system like the rest of the world.

I don't see that happening.  Festool should offer both scales when you order it, simple as that.

Heh-heh.  My Swiss-made Lamello biscuit joiner came with imperial scales...had to ask the seller to import a set of metric scales for me.

That said, I agree with Gary Laroff, who wrote that if you try to make cabinets (or furniture) in the U.S., and if you decide to use metric measurements, you're still gonna have to use imperial measurements, too.  At least that's what I've found for the past eight years since I started using metric measurements.

I was thinking why it's so hard to use Domino's metric scale in the non-standard world where  3/4 plywood is not 3/4" (it's 18mm). 2x4 is not 2" x 4".  1 1/4" minus 5/32" takes longer to count than 31mm minus 4mm.
Metric caliper, ruler and tape will do the trick.  Just try it and stop torturing  good tools.
