Ideas wanted for a giant FOG Festival!

Big Green Egg cookers does this and others I am sure.

Seeing that they already have the color ( well, sort of ) and the percieved quality as well as the upper level pricing in common, perhaps BGE would be willing to team up with Festool and make a special promotional Festool branded cooker and host the event as well ? The new Kapex carriage could be quite easily adapted - or wat to think of the MFT-3 BGE ? It's all about expanding the "system"  [big grin]

In the interest of full disclosure: I don't own a Kapex, nor do I own a BGE. For me another thing they have in common is that I would REALLY like to own both of them....
And yes: I would be willing to cook/smoke ribs for the bunch of you in a blue leopard dress if it would buy me them. I'll even add wooden shoes to close the deal...

Regards,

Job

I would also love to have a Big Green Egg.  Unfortunately I already have 9 outdoor cooking grills.  They range from a Cobb grill ( a really neat little grill - can be used on the hood of your car) to a La Caja China plywood Chinese cooking box.  In the US at least there is an alternative /rip off to the BGE - the Bubba Keg.  It even has the ability to be transported using a trailer hitch.

I personally will stick to green power tools this year.

Sounds fun.  Especially if there'd be stuff to keep the family busy and engaged.

Peter, I'll buy YOU a drink.  You've been doing a great lot of proactive stuff on here.  The Great Label Experiment of 2009 (oink!).  The FOGTainer Initiative of 2010.  And maybe soon the FOG Woodstock of 2011.   [eek]

I would love to see you there!  Thanks for the kind words.  Meeting members like you in person WILL be fun.

Peter

Since Peter has 9 grills already, sounds like the event is at his house and he is doing all the cooking!!!

I have a large Big Green Egg. The "mother ship" is introducing a really slick trailer hitch / dolly unit to transport the Eggs somewhat similar to the Bubba grill.
Would love to attend the BGE festival some time as well.

Pete

I would enjoy that and it works for me next summer because I have all my vacation planned for this year.

For those of you who think that I should cook, I offer the following tid bits of information:

I draw the line at cooking for more than 70.  Too nerve racking after that.

I am not a vegetarian.

I don't eat anything that I cook for a large crowd.  I feel it is prudent to have someone able to call 911 in case everyone gets deathly ill  [eek].

So, if people can get around those issues...

Peter

I'm in. Would love to see it in Indiana for obvious reasons. I would also be willing to help out at the event.

I would definitely be in as it's just a short drive for me  8)

Any kind of demo sessions and tutorials would be fantastic.

There is a lot of Hoosier's in this thread, I am not sure if we can be trusted now. [scratch chin]

Hehe, I'm a stealth Hoosier.  Born in South Bend, live there for a few (very young) years.  Knew the ND fight song as a child, and wore a T-shirt to elementary school with a picture of the pugilistic leprechaun (raised a few eyebrows I'm sure, in Southern California, where I really grew up).
Still have some family there (South Bend, not CA).

.... not suggesting I can be trusted.  [unsure]

Whatever you do,wherever it is,  MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE GERMAN BEER!!      AND I'LL BE THERE!!! [thumbs up] [thumbs up] [thumbs up]

Dude, there is some crappy German beer out there! Be careful what you ask for  [tongue]

I'm more for local stuff... There must be a micro brewery close to the event...

Anyhow, I'm not sure if I could attend this event. Too much traveling involved... [embarassed]
