My name is Eric.  I own a home remodeling, painting, & refinishing company and use my festools everyday.  I have met some here and lurk/study frequently.

This is  a project for a client I have been working with for the last five years doing interior and exterior work.  They wanted shutters after we painted the exterior and I decided that I could build them instead of Timberlane Shutter company.  Although I have been in the remodeling business for awhile now, this is really my first dollars earned for a woodworking project that I did off site. I am in the process of building up a shop in my two car garage that also will share my wifes car. So although this isn't a masterpiece, it marks a significant moment for me as I am transitioning my skills towards hopefully one day opening a cabinet/woodworking shop to co-exist with the current business.

The shutters are western red cedar v notched tongue and groove done with the OF 1400(which was bought with clients down payment) and the trion made easy work of the radius tops, which we cut on site.  Next, I am making a wooden exterior screen door for a client and I have already transferred the down payment funds to Timmy c for my Domino which appears will be a good project to get acquainted with.

Next step: invest in planer and stain grade projects,  oh yeah and a ton of cabinetry for shop and van that I will be posting.

Eric, great job on the shutters and my guess is that the exterior screen door is going to be every bit as well done. You are going to love the domino and will be amazed at how quickly it becomes your go to tool for jobs such as these. Good luck with all of it. Fred

Thanks Fred,  I can't wait.  Luckily I have scoured the FOG archives for Domino and already feel acquainted with it.  I may get lucky and wind up with a Fred West T also.  I would kick much ass with that look.  Good to see your eye is better

Eric, thank you it is much better. I hope you enjoy the shirts as much as I do as I get such a kick out of them. Please let me know what you think of the domino. Timmy C is great to work with so I know you are in good hands there.  :D Fred

Nice work Eric.  Look forward to seeing more of your work.  You'll flip over domino.

Welcome to the FOG

Dave

nice job Eric. You will have to post some pics of your shop when it is setup.

Nice job, Eric.
I like the rubble style stonework (old stoned mason) ("the stoned mason" is what one of my customers used to call me)

A work of caution on using the Domino.  It will be a very usefull toy to play with.  BUT >>> DO NOT try joining stone sills.
8) ??? ::) >:(

Great work, Eric.  I like the color and its contrast with the main structure.  A warning about the Domino.  Once you tried it, you will like awake at night imagining all the different things you can do with it.  Heck, sometimes the Domino makes its appearance in my dreams.  Godspeed.

Thanks to everyone for your kind support.  Domino just arrived and wife is away for the week.  I will be in garage late this evening playing.  Exterior screen door will hopefully get done soon.

Tinker, we have stoned masons and carpenters and painters and people all over these parts  ;)

Eric, I think we all have stoned masons, carpenters, etc. but I for one try not to work with them as usually their work is a little sloppy and slowwwww. ;) :D ;D  8) Fred

I have never stoned a mason. That's just rude!  :D
