Is the kapex handle uncomfortable?

So I am thinking it is somewhat awkward particularly because I normally start a cut slight bent over to get a good look at my line and this causes my wrist to extend even more than it normally would standing upright with this saw given its trigger angle.

Thoughts?

We did cover this somewhere. I don't think it is, although I always thought my preference was for a horizontal handle before I owned a Kapex.

I have owned miter saws of one brand or another since their debut in the early 80s.

I have worked out of the union hall with contractor supplied saws that change from day to day week to week.

Every time it is like putting on a new pair of work boots.

First part of the day I am second guessing this purchase, or the contractor dejour's  choice in tool brands.

Then muscle memory kicks in.

Don't get me wrong. I had the opportunity to use the Kapex back in April, in Vegas.

For about 10 minutes.  I convinced myself that the handle was going to be a problem.

All the way up until the time we went to John Lucas shop and I used the saw for a extended period.

After a half a hour of many repetitive test cuts, think demonstration. I forgot all aboutit.

In retrospect I felt like a jerk, because in the time between uses I had all ready fabricated

a bias in my tiny little brain. One that had no business being there.

Good response Per.  I've found in my years in the work world change is always an issue.  We humans like things familiar put in something different and our first instinct is to challenge. I've even noticed the older I get the more resistant to change I have become.  I'm about ready to pull the trigger on the kapex, and was playing with it at the local Rockler.  It did feel a bit awkward the mechanism(dual trigger), but I'm use to a single.  I'll bank on the fact that after a few days of use, it will not be an issue.  Scrapping as you rotate the base would be an issue, but that's another thread.

I actually prefer a vertical handle.

I did find the Kapex handle / trigger / trigger release button combination to be very awkward at first. I kept trying to reach for the trigger release button with the saw head up. My wrist was getting sore. I found a better way(duh!!!!!!!!!).

I just grab the handle and squeeze the trigger slightly and pull the head down towards the cut. Then I push the trigger release and squeeze the trigger to cut. It is much more comfortable on the wrist. I cant believe it only took me 3 weeks to figure that out. ;D. I guess I was just using the same technique I had used on my Makita. Old habits die hard.
