Is this included with the 1400?

I am going to be purchasing the OF1400 and also wanted to buy a few accessories at the same time.  One question I have is, does the support foot (Product No. 438608) come in the box?  Thought someone mentioned that it did.

Thanks for the help.

Bill,

It does not.  It is my understanding that the foot and mounting screw comes with the Guide Rail Stop which is an accessory not included with the router.  I guess the thought process is that without the guide rail stop you don't have a need for the foot.

Here is another thread where this is mentioned along with other stuff:  http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/quick-of1400-question/

Victor,

Tom a dealer had responded in the other thread had responded that the foot came with the guide stop - not with the 1400 router.  I can see where my previous post was confusing.  I will correct.

Here's the "official" word...  [smile]

The support foot is not included with the 1400.  It can be purchased separately and is included if you purchase the guide stop.

Victor, I didn't see anything on Ace's website to indicate that it was included with the 1400.  In fact, it was not listed in a list of included items.

Shane,

Don't forget the two bars at the bottom of the systainer for the edge guide or guide stop.

Correct, the rods used in conjunction with the guide stop for attaching the router to the guide rail are included and are located in the bottom of the systainer.  They are sometimes overlooked because they blend in with the color of the systainer insert.  Thanks, Richard.

My fault. I received all of my three routers with that part. I did not realize that it was part of another accessory. All pictures of rail guides do not show this foot as part of the deal. Do you want update 2010+ catalog a little bit? In 2007 catalog it was shown as "replacement" part for OF 1010, 2008/09 catalog states that is "replacement" for 3 routers, and I  assumed that this is "standard equipment" for all routers.

Regards,
Victor

Victor,

That's a great point.

Similarly, I found that the photos of the OF1400 router accessories to be very ambiguous and it was not clear what was included and what was not. For example, the photo of the guide stop does not show that it includes a support foot (although it is mentioned in the description), nor does the photo of the edge guide show that it comes with a dust hood (nor is it mentioned at all). Even worse, on many dealers' websites the stock photo of the guide stop 492601 shows only half the accessory.

I think the accessory description is one area that could be improved upon by Festool.

Richard.
