My wife and I had been discussing getting an air purifier for years, because of the local air...and now that there is so much woodworking going on in the apartment, (Come on, man! My festools can't get all of the dust!) I/we decided to buy a Jet Air Filtration Unit for our small apartment.
Unfortunately, our landlord wouldn't let me mount the Jet Unit onto the ceiling. So, it was either return the unit to Woodcraft or get creative. Fortunately, I had just enough scrap in the corner to make something happen.
This project was made using the TS 75EQ, the Domino XL, Domino 500, OF 1400, and the ETS 125. The table is on 3 inch caster wheels and the top is removeable - in case I need to service the unit. (The 6x4 maple cabinet in the background houses most of my tools. I wheel in a home-made case with full extention drawers for festools, a workbench with the vac built in (still in progress), and most of my hand tools and measuring tools.
Obviously, the coffee table is not fine furniture, but it works better than expected. We also put the unit on while sleeping. Now, we sleep better because the white noise blocks out most of the street noise and we wake without nose buggies. Fresh! Crazy, right?
