Jmb's Newest Toys!

What I didnt tell you is that we walked off the job after 10 minutes  [laughing]

It was a complete mess we had to park in a very muddy field and then carry all our tools across into the house about 200 m away  ::). Anyway we decided to not bother and on the way off the job I happen to mention to the agent he should have sorted out the parking and we would have stayed, he flipped big time (MUPPET) and we left  [laughing]. Luckily we have plenty of work so he ho they can get some bodger in who dont care about trudging thru 200m of boggy mud to get to the job site. PS Im no premadonna but this was bad probably the worst run site ive ever been on.

It does look a nice house sorry didn t get time for photos  [laughing] apparently rumour has it they've spent £25million so far on it  [eek]  the guy owns an insurance company or something.

Not festool BUT in a Snowboarding world Libtech is like Festool!

Just showing off my new  Lib-tech Banana Magic  I picked up yesterday and gave it a spin in Chill factor!! With a new Burton bag and Burton Cartels bindings!  All I got was £10 discount! If it was not for how rare this board is in the UK I would of walked out of the shop and gone else where!

Just like festool its unfair!  This board in USA is $696.96 Dollars and that works out to be £438 pounds!  But like everything in UK we pay over the odds compared to USA and this boards costs £620 here in the UK

Do we have any snowboarders here on FOG?!?!??!?!?!

Seriously jealous, I fancy a lib tech board, I've been looking at the TRS.  First board was a Gnu, then rode a Burton Air which I love. Haven't been for a few years though since having kids...

Having broken my tailbone skateboarding, completely dislocating my knee and breaking both my wrists kickboxing, not to mention breaking my nose. I'm done with action sports!! Looks fun though :)

You and me my friend are two different people. I tend to overkill everything [big grin]

Snow boarding holds a special place in my heart.

I got 'into' boarding about 12 years ago while living in Utah. Never got any where close to good at it but I always had a good time. When I my son came to visit, I took him. Although it was rented gear, it was his first time on a REAL board, not some Walmart wannbe POS. It completely changed his perspective on boarding. Over the years since, he collected some `real` gear and boarding became one of his loves.

When I moved back east, we often talked about going again, together. All to often I suffered from the money/time dilemma... you guys know the one,.... not having BOTH at the same time. In Feb. of last year, he put a deposit down for a new board which he was supposed to pick up towards the end of March. He told me that I could have his old (current) board so we could start going again, together. Fate had other designs. :'(

Tragically, I ended up with that gear. Last season, I was able to get three days of boarding in on that gear before everyplace closed down and I greatly look forward to the upcoming season. I know he is with me as I make my runs, even if it is only in spirit.

Harry,

Snow is nothing more than frozen water, but it has remarkable powers.  I know that you need 30 feet of snow to help, but I hope that the amount available can help to some degree and assist you on your journey.

Peter,

I saw on the news yesterday/today that the guns have been turned on at some mountains of this week. Some of the resorts have scheduled openings for Thanksgiving weekend, although they admit that they are being somewhat optimistic. My memory tells me that in these parts, winters that are late to start more than make up for it in depth [laughing].

The Halloween storm was a fluke, as we have had 50F+ weather virtually everyday since.

JMB, I've been boarding for about 15 years now.  Never indoors.  All the Scottish resorts, Chamonix a couple of times & Courmayer in Italy.  Fantastic sport which both my boys are into now also.
Will try to dig out some pics.

Woodguy.

Oh, I bought a Burton "Rippy" pro model board last time I was in the alps, much cheaper over there.  Use Flow bindings on them, hate the ratchet bindings, wayyyyy to slow.

Want some extreme boarding then head up to the Cairngorms :-)

Sad story Harry I had read about your loss before all the best mate.

My son has just started skiing lessons with his new school just on a dry slope , we dont always have the luxury of real snow here  [laughing]. He is off to Jasper in Canada next April sadly I couldnt afford to go with him but maybe the next time if he likes it and maybe my younger son will be into it by then. Last time I went skiing was over 10 years ago and I tried snowboarding out for the first time and loved it might give it another go one day. I was very lucky to get some tips from the son of one of my friends at the time he was a pro snowboarder (british champion at the time). I fealt very comfortable on a board the boots are way better than ski boots  [laughing] ;D

I use flow bindings too, all that time sitting in the snow on my backside doing the ratchets became too much.

yeah show me some vids dude of some of your moves lol

Flow bindings!!  Nah I dont like them they are heavier and just aint a fan of flow bindings! I know the ratchet are a bit slow but I prefer them always have.

I have done snowboarding for 13years and skiing for 21 years I prefer snowboarding.

Heavier ?  Mine weigh nothing.  We can get off the lift & I can be strapped in without even stopping.  I can be half way down the run before my mates get off there asse's.

Flows are the future !

Peter,

All too often it seems that I need little more than 30" (the distance from my board to my backside)  [laughing]

My TomTom broke on me I have had it for like 6years I think  so served me well! but thought instead of buying a new one and spending £400+ again on a TomTom  decided to use my Ipad for SatNavin!
