Just how straight does the PS 300 cut?

My family got me a PS300 for Christmas....which is the one I wanted and not the Carvex....I can't justify it in my situation right now.  Anyways she got me a couple accessories for it and one is the parallel guide.  When this is riding against the side of the board how is the cut quality strictly in terms of straightness.  Are the cuts "straight" and afterwards have to be cleaned up?  Or are the cuts great enough to go straight to what your working on?

It depends on blade and technique.  I have this saw and like it a lot and I use the parallel guide all the time...however, when extreme accuracy is needed I use the guide stop with the saw and get really accurate results.  Paired with one of the blades with no side set and you can get really smooth cuts.

Congrats on the saw...it is a really good one and I still like mine a lot even though I also have the Carvex!

I have been working with that saw for about 8 years and really like it.
You need to get the gold looking blades
they are the thicker one and will give you square cuts
as for using it for straight cut I never use a jigsaw for that purpose(only short cuts  3-4")
For straight cuts I use my plunge cut saw or a table saw.

The results can only be as good as the surface you're using the guide against. The best option would be a TS 55/75 if you do a lot of these types of cuts and the straightness is paramount.
