You can use the biscuit cutter to make the slot for table top fasteners.

Or just use the Domino...

Ahhh, that's such a waste of time making Domino slots. You could have just as easily nailed the table top to the table rails.

I gave my Porter Cable biscuit jointer to Goodwill after buying the Domino.  Space in my shop is limited, and I don't want tools around that will not be used.

The last time that I used nails, they all went in just right, except for the last two which went along the grain and out through the side my apron.  Thanks, but I will stay with slots, for myself. Also, since I prefer to use wood boards joined with the domino for the top, rather than ply, I don't have to worry about expansion and contraction issues.

Ummm, isn't that a little backwards? Plywood is considered dimensionally stable while solid wood boards are more prone to expansion and contraction.

Yes, that is correct. But, I personally prefer the look and feel of a table top made of wood boards and not ply.  Like I said, boards will expand and contract, which is why I prefer slots with fasteners, to allow for the shifting.

Thanks for all the replies everyone, after reading everyone's opinion,I decided to just keep it.No more than what the tool is probably worth now,it doesn't look like it is even worth selling.I figure if I even need it one more time for something,I will be glad I kept it.I can see where it would be better for thinner material, like joining casing for a picture frame. It looks like biscuits may be stronger than we give them credit for in some cases,so I will still consider them an option for some situations.
