Kapex dust bag?

First off, I love my Kapex. It's the latest addition to my collection following domino, TS75, trim router, sanders, etc. Now I swore I saw somewhere that you can buy a dust bag, you know, just like the one that comes with every other scms, with a zipper. I have been hooking it up to my CT22, but my employer won't reimburse me for bags for my vacuum, and at $6 a pop that comes straight out of my pocket. Plus, sometimes hauling the vacuum around just isn't worth it. Seems a little extreme to either have hepa filtered dust collection or just dust spewing everywhere out of the chute.

I find it funny that they would make dust bags for sanders but not have one for the Kapex? [eek] I would seem sacrilegious to put a "Makita" or "Hitachi" bag on my Kapex! Does anyone know where I can get a dust bag without a logo, in black or grey or whatever?

I really think the Kapex needs the DC's suction to be fully effective.

Can you pick up a $50~60 dustbin style vac for those on site jobs? You'll get most of the benefit and they're typically bag less.

PS: I say this because you don't want to ruin your KAPEX by running it without DC and making a mess of it ... all because your employer is an cheapskate (a cheapskate getting the quality and benefits of your KAPEX).

Like I said, I have the CT22 and I don't really want to buy another vacuum. I will, undoubtedly, use the CT22 on some jobs, but for jobs where the site is a mess anyway, and I don't want to load/unload the CT22 every day, a bag just makes more sense.

I'm still getting super clean cuts even without the DC. I find that I'm giving my saw an "air shower" every so often to get the dust out of the critical areas.

Chris, thanks for the tip on the planer bag, can anyone else confirm this before I order?

A regular bag would last several days of cutting...  but I understand....  Festool offers a reusable bag for the CT22, that is not good for fine dust but the Kapex wood would not be as fine as dust... go for it. Or get a  one of those fast cap hoods.

Your comment makes me want to ask.... what is your work agreement/employment say about personal tool use. Do you supply all your own tools? then I would think your rate would be enough to cover bags. If it is a rental by tool...and they have set rate... same thing. 

I would have to ask.... if he won't pay for bags...who picks up sharpening/replacing blades?

Chris, thanks for the tip, I'll have to give that a shot.

Steve, it is sort of a strange (but common as I understand) setup. I'm an hourly employee, yet I provide all of my own tools, cost of maintenance, vehicle etc. Fasteners, adhesives (sundries) are provided, naturally. In my mind, my current hourly rate does not justify spending my own money on throw-aways such as vacuum bags. This might be a good topic for another thread as I'm curious how others operate, and in the compensation, particularly in different parts of the country.
