I searched the forum for a source of a 36mm hose for my new Kapex , and I know that Bob used to have one,but how about now?
I know I can cut one down, but would like a better solution .

I have a Bosch hose , but I don’t think it’s A.S
Thanks in advance ,
Charlie
Btw I’ve been wanting that saw for a long time but waited till the motor issues got worked out. Hopefully

You don't need an AS hose on the Kapex as it doesn't produce dust for long enough to build up any voltage. I also think that the frame is already earthed via the power cord.

I have been using a short length of 50 mm black hose (off an old shop vac) without any problems but with a huge improvement in suction. I had to make an adaptor out of some PVC plumbing to fit the Kapex.

Thanks,
I was thinking about a 50mm hose also.
I cut and rigged up a old Bosch hose I had laying around so I’ll run that.
Thanks again,
Charlie

I have used my Kapex with a regular (non anti-static) hose for years. The Kapex's power plug is two-pronged, so not grounded.

I’m going to revive this thread to ask a question.
I recently bought my Kapex; I have an older 36 mm hose (accordion-style) which I will not be using. I would like to cut about a 3-4 foot section of the older 36 mm hose and attach it to my older CT-22, dedicated to the Kapex.
Can someone please tell me what two parts I would need to fasten new ends for the cut hose?
Would I need to buy them from Festool Customer Service?
Thanks

To make one hose you just cut it off and refit the parts back onto the hose. Small screwdriver to push the tabs in and a knife are all that is needed. If you want to have two hoses, then the parts below will make a second hose.

Festool 487721 Hose Sleeve, Reducing Sleeve For Antistatic D 36 Hose
Festool 452894 Rotating Connector For D 36 Antistatic Hose

If it is a grey hose this is another option.
Festool 452893 Rotating Connector For D 36 Non-antistatic Hose

I did the same thing, I cut it to length, then removed the fitting from the end and reinstalled it on the shorter end.

Later I get some new fittings and reused the remainder of the hose for a Rigid Oscillating Edge/Belt Spindle Sander.

Bob
