Well it appears xmas came early. While my brother was visiting over the weekend I went finish up a small garage storage job for a friend. Although ive alway told my brother about festool he has never used it. After using the Domino and track saw we knocked out some simple storage shelves, work bench area,  and doors to make things look neat.  He was really impressed with once we were done was minimal dust to clean up for the amount of cutting we did. He said he will seriously have to start looking into the festool line now that he seen it action and not just the price tag.

As he was leaving last night he told me he wanted to give me his xmas present as he knows I work shift work and will be working on the holiday this year. He handed me an envelope and inside was 2 pieces of paper.  The first piece of paper was contact information of a guy he found in the area who was selling a used kapex, said he isn't paying for it but this might save me a few bucks. At first I though gee thanks for spending my money for me, your awesome  [eek]. The second piece of paper totally blew me away, it was festool school registration for cabinets , and doors and drawers in vegas for the full week before xmas!! I'm super pumped can't wait to go!! You can never get seats usually fur my schedule but this works fur me this time.

I spent the morning cleaning my garage and went to see buddy about his kapex. Apperently he moving out of town and selling everything,  I got the kapex plus 2 forrest blades and 420 ebq cravex for a sweet deal.  Now I got build a mitresaw stand guess it's good timing for Peter Parfitts video recently released!

Sorry for being long winded just wanted to share.  Is there anyone else on here going to Vegas festool school in december?

Cheers

NICE Xmas present!

And I'm jealous about the classes. I'd love to go!

The kapex is 4 months old,  the guy who owned it was making a compound mitre cut and cut right thru the aluminum guide fence and screwed yo the blade and fence,  he sent it back to festool service dept to have electronics alignment checked out.  He received the the saw back in top notch condition with new fence and blade,  I picked up the the crown molding stops on the way home.
I hope I have Better luck with it than he did, lol
Cheers

Are you telling me that the Kapex is capable of cutting itself? Seems like a serious design flaw..... maybe I'm wrong.

Alot of miter saws will cut the fence when doing a compound mitre. You have to slide the fence back (to left or right depending on angle) Had a guy do that to my Bosch 4412L right after I got it. He stopped a 1/4 inch into it. Wasn't happy.

My dewalt can do this as well , the fence moves in to give u more support for straight cut and moves out to make compound mitres.  some of my employs cut mine but notice before they went throughout it !
