Hi guys,
Check out my recent table where I used handheld CNC- Origin from Shaper to create unique joint and inlay of my own design butterflies. Hope you guys like it. Enjoy the flick;

VERY NICE!  I really like how you designed this entire table.  The metal "butterfly's" were awesome.  I like your style.

[size=13pt]Excellent is an understatement, both in the execution and the final result.

I find it puzzling that when high quality work such as this is presented on the FOG that  there is little response!  [blink]

Its because people are speechless.

Saw it on YouTube in the Shaper channel and was amazed with the inventive use of the tool for the irregular joint.  The work is really well done!

What is the base design?

Thanks guys for great feedback. Base is simple beefy metal trapeze legs and whole table is a knockdown for future move.

Wow.  Incredible work that maximizes the natural beauty of the wood.  You've got me thinking about getting a Shaper Origin now.  How did you flush the metal butterflies to the table surface btw?

I did grind aluminum flat and tapered sides a little to pound them in with epoxy flush. With Origin we scanned traced on paper butterflies to create file and cut wood super precise (to my surprise) also with depth of the butterfly. I only had to square off bit radiuses. One piece was sticking out a bit and I sanded it with RO 150 and finished all by hand after I buffed out Festool oil. Veils and RO 150 left a circular pattern, so I had to touch them up with green vail by hand. Really cool that you can scan existing part with tool to create file.

What a great feature! I'm sure this little tool will be a success.
