So I took the plunge and ordered the lr32 kit along with the 1400 guide rail.  We are in the process of a lengthy remodel and the customer now wants three built in bookcases.  They will be approx. 7' tall. I have watched a bunch of videos bit still have a few questions.

1. What is the best method for doing the holes along a 7' tall piece?  I plan to have a fixed middle support shelf so both top and bottom sets of holes do not need to line up 100%.  Will clamping on a extra regular rail so I can clamp the lr32 at both ends.  Do I need the longer rail or will this work and make life easy?

2.  When you drill one row of holes and flip the guide rail around to do the other row, will the holes align or do I need to change the end stops around from 16 & 32?  I tried to follow in a few videos but still confused? Im assuming if you just flip the rail around they will not line up?

3. Should I try and make the cabinet height divisible by 32mm?  How much of a PITA is it to be another measurement?

Thanks!!

Since you are thinking about having a fixed middle shelf I would just reference off the top for the top set of holes, then off the bottom for the bottom set to split the cabinet into manageable spans for the 55" rail.  This will solve all three parts of your question, including eliminating the need for an exact multiple of 32mm overall.
