Greetings Festoolians! I've enjoyed your forum as a spectator for a while and I own a lot of Festools but when it came to buy a track saw the Mafell mt55c was the ticket! It is in a different league than my old ts55.

:) Heh. Sorry. I just call them as I see them. I still use and prefer lots of other Festools such as the dominos, routers and sanders - perhaps not the jigsaw, though. The Mafell P1cc looks amazing.

I've been considering one of these... Does the MT55 have adjustment gibs (cams) like the TS55 for snugging up to the Festool rails?

Ah, yes. The avatar- just a private woodshop mascot. Let me see if I can find something else that isn't so scary for a powertool forum..

The cams- do you mean these-

Best thing about the mafell is the rail connectors to join two rails together!   Amazing absolutely amazing!    To be honest the festool connectors are really poor!  Screws are to soft and finding a flat head screw driver to fit properly is a pain.

The mafel is much harder wearing  automatically straightens the two rails once you tighten the screws brilliant!

Wish festool made a rail like that!

Its a sweet saw.  I have had several TS and ATF 55s but prefer the Mafell.....that reminds me....I have a pile of rails to sale.  After using the Mafell rails with the connector I cant see going back.

Looks like a very well thought out saw. I have a TS 75 & it does most everything I need but I do think about the smaller saw for panel work. Melamine is a concern & as I understand it the Mafell saw has an option to run a scoring pass?

Thanks for answering my question guys.

Yes. There's a lever that you can flip that sets the limit to 3mm for a scoring cut. Disengage it for the full depth second cut.

You're welcome  :)

I've looked online at them for sometime now. Is there still only one dealer for them in n/a? What other features makes you feel it's superior to t55? Guide rail connectors(nice!), scoring feature( very cool)....anything else? Doesn't mafell make a flexible guide rail that can be rolled up? Or is it for different saw?

There are several guides Mafell makes that are great. The flexi guide comes with the  Mafell kss300 (which looks like an amazing tool btw.!)The mt55cc have many features that I prefer over the ts55; the overall build quality is sturdier; the tough cover that encapsulates that covers the blade makes dust extraction easier as well as changing blades, the motor is stronger- 1400w ++. The Mt55cc has a very high quality build and feel to it.
