The only thing I don't like about my mt55 is the guide rail clamps. I wish they did some other types.

I finally used it today.  I can only say Wow!!

I don't want to sound like a broken record so I will review them together and I will post it on the Mafell forum.  If you are interested look there next week.

Definitely my TS55 is for sale, no regrets.

(Fixed the link)

Well, it looks like that I cannot just click on the link, it will open FOG instead of mafell.  You will have to copy the link in a new tab or window to make it work.  Remove "thisliink" from the beginning and end.  I am trying to confuse the software to let me paste the right url.

fidel your link is mysteriously being changed when attempting to post it, anyone wishing to see it will have to manually type the following into their address bar:

I like the way the blade retracts back into the housing after the cut...nice safety feature!  What is the arbor on the Mafell?  Is is quieter than the TS 55?  How does the Mafell blade compare to the Festool blade?  Approximately $200 more...that's another big pill to swallow.  Is it really worth it?

The arbor is the same as the Festool TS55, you can use festool blades and 3rd parties.

I honestly believe that is quieter than the TS55, but I will test that tomorrow and I'll post it.  I just got the machine, so I don't konw how long will last, it cuts without chipping and it is very smooth, more than the TS55.

Only you can decide if it is worth it or not.  It is to me.  I am moving out of state so I will sell all my big tools.  I need to replace them with equivalents (smaller size), for the Table saw, I am getting the Mafell Erika.  It is very expensive so I will be without the table saw for a while.  I need my track saw with enough power and easy to use, that is why I am replacing the TS55.  In other words, based on my needs it is worth it.  I won't have to buy the TS75 and have 2 saws (75 and 55) to do what my MT55 can do.  The difference will be the depth of cut, but I can live with that.

Believe me, the TS55 is a great saw, you won't get disappointed at all, but If you want to go the next step like me then the MT55 fits right.

: curious

When I first saw this post, the link was active and worked flawlessly...

I suspect the link, as it was, breached some forum 'rule' and the mods have flexed their muscles....

Oh well, if you want to play in this sand pit, I guess you agree to their rules...

Clearly Mafell and their tools are rustling more than a few green feathers......

Funny thing is... All this just draws more attention to what is and remains a quiet achiever in the world of tools....

You might be right!  I don't know if the mafell forum is banned or not.

That is the only reason I found that is not allowed to post a url, if the site is banned.

I wish to think is not that, it might be an standard function to correct the url, it has a lot of dashes and it is a .net not .com.  That might confuse the filter engine.

I used an app in my phone, so it is not a scientific equipment.  Both are 84 decibels, but the Festool has a higher pitch, which bothers me a lot more.  I can think of the noise that the Festool of2200 does when it is stopping as the same the Mafell MT makes, which I like.

Heres a video review of the mt55 ts55 and others

Although I can't understand a word of this, it illustrates the superior dust collection, fast blade changes, and higher power of the mt55

That link will be inactive shortly.

The Mafell MT55cc may be a better saw than the TS 55, but I would have to try it to determine if it is worth the almost $200 premium.  I really loved my TS 55REQ.  Also, I doubt that the service for that saw could be better than what I get from Toolnut and Festool USA.  It doesn't help Festool, or me,  that we still don't have access to getting a TS 55.  I really do need one soon...if Festool can't release it in the very near future, then I may have to jump ship to the Mafell.  BTW, If any of you have a TS 55EQ under warranty and in great shape and want a TS 75EQ (got in exchange during the REQ recall - used one time!) , then I'd consider a trade or to sell outright.
