MB 40 Vacuum base modification

Hey, does anyone know the significance of the two outside notches that are about 20mm from the front? Not the centering ones.
22.5mm? They may align with the center 22.5mm that sets the position 35mm hinge cups with a 5mm boring distance.

Okay! Here's version 5... (we're NOT going to talk about version 4).

I made the following changes:

- vacuum tube increased 50% in diameter
- strength fillet and spline added to the tube
- alignment detents (notches?) added to mimic those on the OEM base
- added the raised platforms that go under the fence bars (not sure why those are there TBH)
- angle of vacuum tube changed to 40 degrees to match the hose attachment and less interference with the chip collection
- various round over fillets for refinement

Demo video below.

Let me know if you think I should try for stronger suction.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: you may notice in the video that my right middle finger is heavily bandaged. Shortly after filming that previous video (above), I decided to remove the drill from the MB 40 while leaving the centrotec drill bit in place. They are VERY sharp. While doing that, the MB 40 started to fall over, and I instinctively grabbed at it to catch it (I used to work the juice at the grocery store in college... you catch it, or you clean it!). So that very sharp bit managed to slice the end of my finger rather deeply. Took awhile for the bleeding to stop. SO please think about the order of assembly!

Glad you’ve got healing powers : - )

Funny how you instinctively grabbed the older model of the CXS, then realized it does not have the FastFix.

Your sub-base does a great job of the suction and the dust collection!
