Hello Everyone,
I am in need of replacing my metric tape measures and a couple stainless steel rules as well.
The old ones, markings are wearing off after 30 years of use.
My eyes aren't quite what they used to be! I need something with really good and sharp markings.
Someone must make quality rulers and tapes in metric??

Thanks,
John

Try FastCap, USA for good Metric Tape Measures.  They are clear and easy to read also.

We sell good quality Steel Rules made by Hultafors, but obviously shipped from the UK.  Let me know if I can help.

For tapes, Fastcap makes several in metric, combination metric/imperial, true 32 & etc.  They are reasonably priced and available from several online dealers.

The SS metric rules I have come from Bridge City Tool Works and are only manufactured intermittently.  Woodpeckers also makes some in red anodized aluminum with white lettering, really easy to read.

Since the end of WWII I have worked in metric.

Currently my primary tape measure is a Starrett Tru-Lok 4m cat C12-4M8  65781  This is the one I use for making exact measurements.

I also use a Fast Cap 25' Pro Carpenter tape "Metric/Standard" which has a very handy feature of a blue dot every 32mm which is great for planning cabinets using the System 32.

I've bought few good quality metric measuring tools from Woodpeckers. Most of them are one time tools but few are still available.

Tajima makes a good variety of metric tapes. I've been using them for the last 5 years and have found them to be top notch.

I like the new Stabilia tapes. While they are marked in imperial and metric the cm/in. numbers are quite large. The SS rules from Lee Valley are quite easy to read.

Love the fastacp but heads up!.... The edge is rather sharp on those things:

That particular feature is hardly unique to FastCap; I did that once with one from some other brand (might have been a Stanley - forget by now).

Yours looks like it was a bit bigger though...
