Does anyone know where I can purchase the guide rail hardware that comes with the MFT?  I love the setup of the cross cut rail system and can't afford an MFT right now. Not sure if an MTF would even work for me.  I do mostly large products? Hutches, end tables, entertainment centers, etc.  What does everyone think?

I have just started adding Festool products to my shop...I am hooked!!! Just have TS 55, ETS 125 RO sander, and just got a CT 26.

P.S. I'm new to FOG.  This is pretty cool!  Better than talking to my wife about my wood shop! [big grin]

Welcome to the FOG, Tim.  There are two versions of the Guide Rail Support Brackets -- a newer version that fits on the newer MFT/3's side profile, and the older version the fit onto the older MFT 1080 (and MFT 800) profiles.  These parts should be available from Festool.  You may also wish to obtain two lengths of side profile to use with these support brackets to incorporate into your own table.  Lots of information here on making your own MFT-like table...

If you are looking for the older MFT 800/1080 type, I have extras, and you can shoot me a PM if interested.

Hi and welcome,

You can order the MFT hardware separately by calling a dealer or Festool directly...

but...

the cost will get you well on the way to the full cost of an MFT so I suggest you hold off until you can afford the whole deal. Also, I don't know if you are within the 30 day refund period, but you could take advantage of one of the package discounts available with your CT26 dust extractor.

I was on the fence- pardon the pun- about the MFT but now that I have one I find it indispensable.

Now you can bore your wife silly about the FOG as well as your wood shop!

Thank you guys so much for the information.  It is really cool to see how many people out there love this stuff and how much everyone is willing to help out!  I hope I can return the favor

I have the hardware from my former demo MFT 800 if you would like it. I have no use for it since I have the MFT/3.

Tim,

Here are a couple of shots of the Guide Rail Support Brackets:

These are designed to fit onto the older MFT profiles.  The black plastic base portion of the brackets are alike and only the upper portion of the metal parts differ.  If you do not wish to mount a section of profile on to the front and back sides of your bench, then you will need to either modify these black bases or make your own replacements.

Note how the base has a thumb screw knob that, when tightened, locks the base in place.  The black plastic handle serves as a cam clamp to tighten the height adjustment in place while at the same time locking the right side of the bracket tight to the profile with the metal hook that fits into the upper T-slot.  This hook could be replaced with a nut (like on the left side of the cam handle), but that does leave the right side of the bracket lacking...  One possibility would be to glue the black plastic base to a board that your then mount to your bench, and have it extend to the right to allow for mounting hardware on that side too.
