MFT TOP from BRUCEBO

I received my two MFT style tops today from FOG user "brucebo".  I opted for one top of each size, one is sized to fit the MFT, the other is  sized at 30 x 52.  I will reserve the MFT top for later use on one of my MFT's.  Will probably make a combo bench/outfeed table for my cabinet saw with the larger top.

The CNC'ed holes are perfectly aligned, and my various dogs fit perfectly, or dare I say better than they fit my Festool MFTs, which have a little too much wiggle....

Anyway, just a shout out to the FOG that the tops brucebo had machined appear to be top notch!  He has a thread in the classifieds dated 26 Dec 2014, $80 for the MFT top, and $100 for the larger top, plus shipping.  A great alternative should anyone be looking for a replacement top for the MFT, or a larger top for a syscart, workbench or bench/outfeed table.

I'm glad you are happy with your purchase. Always good to hear users feedback.
I Would defiantly order one of those, alas the postage down under would be a killer.

We should find someone local to do something similar!

Good news Baremeg55!

I opted for the larger table and it should arrive before too long.

There ya go Kevin. That will fund your systainer habit :>)

Rusty,

The tops were shipped via UPS at a total cost of $30....  That was for both tops (1 - small / 1 - large).  Brucebo can provide you with a quote or you can estimate yourself.  Tips will originate from zip 30004.  I guess you can discuss with Bruce if you have a preferred shipper.

Bruce deserves a lot of cudos for this...  Herding the cats for a group buy is always a challenge, and packing/shipping a bunch of heavy and somewhat fragile items can be a LOT of work.  So many thanks to Bruce.

I agree with the others that the tops were very nicely made and I'm looking forward to putting mine to use.

All is not sweetness and light however;  even though Bruce did a pretty good job packing the top, UPS managed to bugger up two corners on mine.  I knew this was a risk and I'm not really surprised although I am a little disappointed.

My other disappointment has to do with the size of the top;  the thread I saw in the Classified section said the tops would be 36" wide;  unbeknownst to me there was another thread elsewhere that detailed a design change down to 30" wide which I did not see until after the top was delivered.  I fault both Bruce and myself for not communicating more clearly;  let this be a lesson for us both.  Again I'm disappointed but not angry.

So cudos again to Bruce for putting this together.  I'm sure it was a lot of work!
