Mft top protection?!

Hi all,

Just received my mft/3 but before I start to butcher it I was wondering what the general thought is on protection for the top.

I was thinking a shellac layer or 2 but would love to know what you guys do.

I took Peter Parfitt's advice and put two coats of Osmo poly-x on my new top and I am very pleased.  Bill

I believe many don't do anything, but I have put shellac on mine.  It has saved me from moisture damage in the past.  I'm about ready to reapply as it has been several years and it is wearing.
