I can't find through searching the previous discussions about a self-adjusting MFT hinge? I seem to remember seeing some which move smoothly as you pull the track over your piece and land square on the front hinge support.

Thanks

If I understand you question correctly your rail isn't sliding on the hinge key smoothly and your rail isn't hitting the guide pin o the opposite side of the MFT.

There are 2 hex head screws on the hinge plate you can loosen to make the guide rail slide over the hinge plate smoother. Now the other end is all about your adjustment of the rail.

One tip I learned from Allen K is when you tighten both the hinge plate and the other end there is some slop. So he recommends putting pressure on them when you tighten then to the MFT. Also a slop stop for the rail will help to.

Yeah but I do remember seeing someone's design where the back hinge when it was unlocked moved smoothly on some extrusion and so when you dropped the track down over the material it easily adjusted to the height etc. The current design even when tuned correctly never moves as easily as what I saw above.

Is this what you are looking for?

Here is a version of a very smoothly adjusting MFT guide rail hinge support built from 8020 extrusion parts. Not my idea and I can't find the original sources for this design here at the moment.  The original idea has been a wonderful modification.

EDIT: found one thread here .  (See reply #14 for parts info.)

Yes! Thanks all. Those are them and a couple new ones. I'd like to find the time to make one of these but I am really surprised one of the accessory outfits hasn't jumped on this. I know the price would most likely be too high but still it is surprising there isn't anything out there. At least to my knowledge.
